Hugh Acheson of Top Chef  believes that the recipe starts in your backyard — by farming and shopping local. His own local food initiatives have helped integrate healthy, sustainable, and local flavors into the menus and concessions of schools, communities, and Live Nation concerts and events. In his speeches, Chef Acheson discusses how small steps will help achieve this big goal and encourage stronger, smarter, and more sustainable citizens of the world.

Hugh Acheson lives for food. A classically trained French chef, Hugh made a name for himself transforming down-to-earth, southern cooking into intelligent plates that are as healthy as they are delicious. He has since gone from Top Chef contestant to judge and from running a kitchen to owning five restaurants throughout Georgia. If there’s culinary conversation to be had, Hugh is at the center of it. 

Hugh’s new cookbook The Broad Fork: Recipes for the Wide World of Vegetables is out now, and he’ll be returning to Top Chef Masters this fall!
