Like all Royce Carlton Speakers, Elizabeth Alexander is exclusively represented by Royce Carlton, Inc. for lectures and speaking engagements
Earlier this month, Elizabeth Alexander released an excerpt from her latest work, The Light of the World: A Memoir, in The New Yorker. Through her poetic and lucid prose, Alexander’s new book, available April 2015, tells of her idyllic marriage and how she found the strength to keep on living following following the sudden death of her husband. Joyce Carol Oates called it, “one of the most compelling memoirs of loss that I have ever read.”
In her speeches, Alexander brings her many sides to the podium, with presentations on turning life into art, exploring African American culture, and poetry as activism. Alexander's presentations show the power of creativity in action.
The first inaugural poet for President Barack Obama, Elizabeth Alexander is a Professor at Yale and the author of Crave Radiance and Pulitzer Prize-finalistAmerican Sublime.
