Like all Royce Carlton Speakers, Yeonmi Park is now exclusively represented by Royce Carlton, Inc. for lectures and speaking engagements
North Korean defector Yeonmi Park tells the story of millions of oppressed people. The 21-year-old human rights activist has become an international phenomenon, delivering passionate and deeply personal speeches about her escape from brutality, what life is like under the North Korean regime, and her fight for freedom.
Born in Hyesan, North Korea, she and her family fled from the reign of Kim Jong-il after her father was tortured and sentenced to 10 years in a forced labor camp. They crossed a frozen river and endured hardships in China, before spending a freezing night in the Gobi desert, dodging patrols and crawling through barbed wire to seek refuge in South Korea
.Yeonmi is bringing her inspirational story to new audiences around the world. Having spoken at the 2014 Oslo Freedom Forum and the One Young World Summit in Dublin, she will be presenting next at the “Women in the World” Summit in New York City.
Yeonmi Park has been featured on CNN, CNBC, and the BBC, as well as in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Her memoir, In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom, will be published this fall by Penguin.
